Speakers:

Isabel Simpson

Isabel is a solution orientated data protection specialist with a commercial and technology law background. She advises clients both in the private and public sector, bringing a market approach to data protection and data ethics. Isabel supports clients with all aspects of data, digital and AI compliance, including advising on global data sovereignty compliance and global privacy compliance transformation programmes, and structuring compliant data transfers.

She is regarded as a thought leader in GDPR and UK GDPR compliance in the UK and is a regular speaker on data protection compliance and data ethics, as well as co-author of UK Finance Data Ethics Principles for AAAI. She is the vice-chair of the Data Committee for the International Regulatory Strategy Group, a member of the LMA Cross Border Data Protection Working Group and the IUA Data Protection Committee and the Tech UK Data Protection Committee.

Dr Marty Herbert

Marty is KPMG UK Head of Experience Transformation and has a track record in the UK and Australia in designing front office customer services to create lasting memorable experiences for customers that drives economic value. He has pioneered the firms approach to putting customers and colleagues at the heart of digital transformation and has recently co-authored the widely regarded 2023/24 Customer Experience Excellence Report which this year introduces the concept of the AI Colleague and explores how organisations can drive value through responsible application of deep learning and generative AI.

Dr. Leanne Allen

Leanne is a Partner and leads KPMG’s Data, Data Science and AI capability within Technology Advisory. Leanne brings over 20 years of consulting experience and specialises in Data and AI Strategy, Data Architecture, responsible Data and AI management and governance. She combines her strong leadership skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems acting as an effective translator between Business and IT stakeholders with a solid track record of delivery in often highly complex business and technology areas across Financial Services Clients. Leanne is the head of Ethical AI for KPMG UK and sits on the KPMG Global governance board for AI.

Tess Buckley

Tess works as the programme manager in digital ethics and AI safety at techUK. She is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) ethicist, strategist and musician. Tess completed a Master of Arts in AI and Philosophy from Northeastern University London, where she specialised in ableism in biotechnologies. Her primary research interests include AI literacy, music systems, the impact of AI on disability rights and the portrayal of AI in media. In particular, she seek to use philosophical principles to make emerging technologies explainable, and ethical.
